Continuing Education Tuition (Arkansas)


 

Any licensed non-exempt producer shall, before each annual period on their birthday, complete courses of instruction totaling eight (8) hours of a life and/or health license. A minimum of eight (8) hours of instruction is also required for a property and/or casualty, or personal lines license. Persons holding a life and/or health and property/casualty, or personal lines license shall be required to complete courses of instruction totaling ten (10) hours. Effective Januaray 1, 2004, all licensed producers are required to complete at least one hour of ethics instruction as a part of their annual continuing education requirement.

Excess classroom hours accumulated during any annual period may be carried forward only to the next annual period.

Newly licensed producers are not required to comply with continuing education requirements during the year they first receive an Arkansas license. However, continuing education requirements will become due on the licensee's birthday in the first annual period after their first renewal.

NEW CE REQUIREMENT - Effective June 15, 2006. Each approved course provider is required to make filings for each licensee to the Commissioner by submission of a roster as described by the Commissioner. Producers are no longer required to submit certificates of completion to the Insurance Department.

A single filing fee of $10 will be billed and collected by the Arkansas Insurance Department, from the producer, simultaneously with the other fees required to renew or continue licensure.
